We work in two scrum teams and are working on adding a third and forth scrum team in the first quarter of 2021. That's why we look for a Front-end developer with over 7 years of experience.

Our workflow is developer-first, aiming to get things built as effectively as possible. The scrum teams consist of both frontend and backend, as fullstack developers. To make sure we keep short lines of communication with the product owner and quick responses there is also a product specialist/manager in each scrum team.

 Front-end stack 

  • Angular as our main front-end framework, using mostly Typescript. We are in the transitioning process from AngularJS  to Angular

  • SCSS using BEM methodology

  • compilation and bundling done by Webpack

  • websockets (NodeJS and SocketIO) to sync data between clients

  • we work based on "Continuous integration" so our systems can be separately run on different versions

Projects you will work on

  • Rentman is currently very good in planning equipment from a single warehouse. One big project we are working on is extending this functionality to multiple warehouse solutions. This adds a new layer of complexity since transfers between warehouses should be planned.
  • Another challenging task we work on is creating a history log module. For all changes done in the account projects planning, we want users to be able to see what is done, when and who did it. Building this feature requires a scalable solution that is able to represent the full history of the database.
  • A permanent task is keeping Rentman fast. Some numbers:
    • 40M files hosted
    • 6K databases, containing 1.3M tables
    • Millions requests a month lead to 10K database queries per second
    • We want all back-end responses to take < 100ms
    • We are building a visual crew planner module that should be able to show a full years planning, consisting of thousands of planning entries. It should support concurrent usage and live synchronisation with socket messages.

Job requirements

You bring

We look for a developer who likes solving complex issues and delivering the best user experience to a global user base. Next to this, you:

  • have an academic background in computer science or similar (Bachelor/Master)
  • have at least 5 to 7 years of work experience as a front-end developer
  • next to Javascript and HTML/CSS, master AngularJS
  • are experienced with complex Single Page Applications
  • are highly analytical, a self-starter and always learning about ways to improve technically, personally and as a team
  • are experienced with onboarding and training of junior/medior developers
  • are able to discuss technical topics with both technical and non-technical peopl
  • thrive in a collaborative and initiative-taking environment
